Troy Alonzo Coffman, age 90 of Riverton, KS passed from this life and entered a new realm of life, Friday, February 24, 2012 at Osborne Care and Rehabilitation Center, Miami, OK.

Troy was born November 2, 1921 in Wewoka, OK to the union of Tom and Mollie (Moore) Coffman.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict, he was honorably discharged after eight years of service.

He was united in marriage to Betty L. (Dixon) Coffman on October 1, 1950 in Columbus, KS.

He was a power plant operator for Empire District Electric Co.

He was a long time active member of the First Baptist Church, Riverton, KS.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Betty Coffman; one brother and two sisters.

He is survived by one son Melvin L. Coffman and wife Marcia of Coal Valley, IL; one daughter Rebecca L. (Coffman) Watt and husband Dan of Miami, OK; one brother Ernest Coffman of Pittsburg, KS; one sister Edna Ballard of Oakridge, TN; four grandchildren Melody O'Toole and husband Ron of Bettendorf, IA, Matt Coffman of Coal Valley, IL, Breanna and Joel Watt of Miami, OK; two great-grandchildren Ryan Fowler and Ruebie O'Toole.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Riverton, Ks.

Burial will follow in the Quaker Valley Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
