Nancy Ellen (Archer) Broer, 67, Turin, Iowa, passed away Monday, August
1, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Onawa
United Methodist Church with Pastor Thelma Subramnian and Pastor Angela
Gafford Asmus officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation
will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at
Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Nancy Ellen was born February 22, 1944 at Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of
Emil and Hazel (Huntley) Archer. She graduated from Moorhead High School.

Nancy and Eugene Broer were united in marriage December 13, 1968 at
Hinton, Iowa. They made their homes in Sioux City, Soldier, Iowa and
settled in Turin in 1979. Nancy retired from Northwestern Bell Telephone
Company and with Gene started Broer's Conoco in Turin in 1978. She then
worked in banking in the Onawa area. She managed their Broer Trucking
Co. while also being a stay at home mom. From 2000 until 2007, Nancy
along with her sister and best friend, Linda, realized their dream and
opened and operated Sisters Consignment Shop at Turin.

She was a member of Turin United Methodist Church. Nancy was a kind and
generous person with a humble heart. Most recently she partnered with
Burgess People Care serving Thanksgiving dinners to those in need of a
family. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, camping, traveling and remodeling
houses with her husband.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene of Turin; a daughter Ranae Lynn
and her husband Conny Hogberg of Wessington Springs, SD; four
grandchildren, Andrew and Paj Broer and Dana and Dawn Broer; three
sisters, Evelyn Poole of Onawa, Betty (Marvin) Schroeder of Norfork, NE
and Linda Broer of Onawa; a brother, Frank (Carolyn) Archer of Moorhead,
IA; a sister-in-law, Janet Archer of Castana, IA; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Allen (Maria) Broer of Torrence, CA, Mel Broer of Sioux
City, IA, Gloria (Dennis) Julch of Omaha, NE and Donna (Steve) Kaiden of
Illinois and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Eugene Broer Oct. 20, 2007;
her parents, Emil and Hazel Archer, mother and father-in-law, William and
Mildred Broer; two brothers, Ted and Mel Archer; two sisters, Margaret
Edison and Rose Archer and three brothers-in-law, Bill Broer, Amos Poole
and Marvin Edison.
