Seth H McGee was born in North Carolina 12 April 1841 to William Kelly McGee & Nancy Ledford McGee. He married Sarah M Duckett. During the War of Northern Aggression, Seth McGee served under the command of Capt. Rufus R Asbury. On 04 March he Enlisted as a J.G. 2nd Leute. in Co C 52nd Ga Vol Regt., on 08 Jan. 1863 he was ELECTED 2nd Lieutenant of the Co. He was captured at Siege of Vicksburg Mississippi, 04 July 1863, exchanged 08 Oct. 1863. Was recaptured 16 Dec. 1864 in the battle of Nashville, Tennessee, he was held as a POW at Fort Delaware, Delaware until his release on 17 June 1865. At the close of War, He returned home to White Co. Ga. where he died 07 June 1930, under the care of Dr, William R Bulgin..RIP.
