Archie Edward Carter, 94, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born August 6, 1924 in Jonesboro to Edward and Willie (Pruitt) Carter. Mr. Carter worked maintenance for Joy Mfg. and was a member of the Pentecostals of Jonesboro. He loved fishing, construction and gardening. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cletis Carter and Authur Carter; and three sisters, Beatrice Wagner, Elsie McConnaughhay and Loretta Carter.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Kathleen (Stingley) Carter; three daughters, Deborah (Dale) Fierge, Cynthia (Leonard) Lasky, and Crystal (John) Gilbert; grandchildren, Janelle (Mitchell) Bland, Michael (Stacy) Fierge, Daniel (Randi) Lasky, Leslie (Marcus) Ballard, Krista (Tommy) DeRoe and Tyler (Ashley) Lavender; great grandchildren, Cameron Fierge, Triston Fierge, Emalie Fierge, Skyler Bland, Amelia Lasky, Colton Ballard, Elijah McCord, Cameron Ballard, Kirsten Lavender, Karter DeRoe, Ryan Summers, Karsyn DeRoe, Noah Ballard and Hudsyn Lavender; a brother, Curtis Carter; and two sisters, Marguritte Ward and Doris Jean Mason.
Services will be 2 pm Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the Pentecostals of Jonesboro Church with Mitchell Bland officiating. Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1 pm until time of the service.
Michael Fierge, Aaron Lasky, Tyler Lavender, Tommy DeRoe, Marcus Ballard and Cameron Fierge will serve as pallbearers.
Triston Fierge, Skyler Bland, Colton Ballard, Elijah McCord, Michael Easton, Brian Easton and Chad Easton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
