MRS. ALVINA EMILIE REIMAN DIED APRIL 11, 1925
Alvina Emilie Hallman was born January 18, 1869 in Mecan Township, Wisconsin. When 2 years old her parents moved on a farm in Newton where she spent the days of her youth.
On April 19, 1892 she was united in holy wedlock to Paul Reiman at the German Lutheran Church. Six children were born to them, five of whom are living.
About 14 months ago her health gradually began to fail, and she was taken to Madison, where x-rays showed that her only chance would be an operation. On November 7the she underwent a serious operation for gallstones and her liver, with the best medical doctors and nurses available. After a hard seige for more than three weeks she gradually began to gain and left the hospital December 24th and stayed at her son's Conrad until January 3rd when she returned home. She remained about the same until two weeks ago when she got worse and gradually grew weaker. Her death came early Saturday morning April 11th, 1925 at the age of 56 years, 2 months, and 23 days.
The funeral was held Easter Monday, April 13th from the Newton church and her body was laid to rest in the cemetery of that church. The services were conducted by the Rev. Meyer and he preached a very comforting sermon. The church was crowded, many friends and relatives being present, and there were many beautiful floral offerings. She will be greatly missed. She was a good true Christian and a loving wife and mother and always willing to do for and help everybody.
Left to mourn her death are her husband and sons, Richard and Alfred at home; Conrad at Madison; and Gustav and Bernhard residing in Newton, besides a host of sorrowing relatives and friends.
The dear, dear eyes are closed
The loving hands at rest,
And folded, oh so still,
across her peaceful breast.
A vacant chair in our home is left,
And the dear mother we are bereft.
No voice of dear ones can make her sleep,
The Saviour has given so sweet and deep,
For only the Master's voice can reach her,
When he calls his loved ones to this sleep,
And takes his children home to rest,
so peacefully on his loving breast.
Then rest thy dear soul till we enter Heaven's door.
Thou are not lost but gone on before
And we'll fold thee again in our loving embrace
When we meet on that heavenly shore.
