On February 10, 1920, Guy and his father, Wiley, mother, Lizzie, and younger brother Ralph lived on a farm in Graham, Oklahoma. Wiley was a farm laborer. Melvin was born in 1923. In 1930, the family owned a farm home valued at 1190.00 on Oil City Road in Hewitt, Oklahoma. Guy married Edna Craddock November 12, 1938 in Carter County, Oklahoma. Guy was working as a janitor in Wheeler School in Wilson, Oklahoma in 1940. He was 5 foot 10 and weighed 164 pounds. He had blue eyes, brown hair, and a ruddy complexion. Alice was born in 1943. Guy married Edith (Henderson) after Edna passed away. Edith helped raise Alice since she was 13. Guy was working in the oilfield in Graham, Oklahoma in 1950.

*Milo is a rural community in Carter County, Oklahoma on Highway 53 south of the Arbuckle Mountains. The post office opened October 28, 1899 but later closed and mail was assigned to the Ardmore post office. Milo is said to have been named to represent the initials of the four daughters of resident, J.W. Johnson.
