Born the son of Professor John W. J. Wade (1855 – 1929) and Leatha Jane Stewart Wade (1865 – 1944), he married 20 Sep 1914 in Upshur Co., Texas to Kate Jewell Sutton (1895 – 1955) and their children were Jewel M. Wade (1916 – 1984), Walter A. Wade born about 1916, Evie D. Wade (1920 – 1983), James C. Wade (1921 – 2003) and Paul Waldo Wade (1928 – 1998). Records show James Hogg Wade was an Oil Field Engineer and family says he was killed in an oil field accident.
