Ada was the youngest daughter and second-to-youngest child of St. Clair County pioneer lumberman and farmer, Alfred Comstock and his wife Harriet Jane Westbrook. Ada's maternal grandfather was War of 1812 hero Captain Andrew Westbrook. Ada married Thomas H. Hunt April 12, 1880, in Port Huron, Michigan. They made their home in Alpena, Michigan, where Thomas was a lumber inspector.

"Mrs. Thomas Hunt, Jr., sister of Alfred Comstock, of this city, died in Detroit on Wednesday. The remains arrived in this city on the morning train today en-route to Jeddo, where the funeral will be held from her parents' residence tomorrow. Mrs. Hunt was a resident of Alpena and was under medical treatment at Detroit at the time of her death." (The Port Huron Daily Times, Friday, Feb 17, 1888)

After Ada's death, her husband Thomas made his way to Valdez, Alaska, where he was last known living in April 1930. (Federal Census)
