Mrs. William Maiwald who lived the greater part of her life in Theilman and vicinity, passed away at four o'clock Monday morning, Dec. 21 at St John's hospital in Red Wing. She had been in failing health for some time and underwent an operation two weeks ago. Blood clot following the operation was given as the cause of death.
Deceased was born Lena Eggenberger, March 12, 1882, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. John Eggenberger, at Theilman. She married William Maiwald August 12, 1906, at Trinity Refoemed church, Wabasha. He preceded her in death about 21 years ago.
Survivers at two sons, Charles at home, Alvin of Millville and one daughter, Mrs. William (Irene) Beck of Chicago. Other survivors are one brother, John Eggenberger;and five sisters, Mrs. E. P.Laqua (Anna), Theilman; Mrs.John Apple (Mary), Plainview; Mrs. John Schmass (Lizzie), Rochester; Mrs. Ed Kuehn (Tillie),and Mrs. Thomas (Bertha) both of Lake City.
Funeral services were held at the home at one o'clock Tuesday afternoon, December 23 and at two o'clock from St. Johns church, Lake City, Reverend T.H. Albrecht officiating. Burial was in Lakewood cemetery, Lake City. Pall bearers were Scott Clark, George Baker, Lloyd Eggenberger, Orville Laqua , Carl Goihl and Donald Eggenberger.
