John Bell Bennett, 73, died Thursday night at the family home, 483 East Seventh North Street, following a two years' illness.
Mr. Bennett was born October 11, 1872 in Payson and came to Provo 66 years ago. He was a son of John Bell and Mary Senior Bennett.
He was married to Mary Hustler Bennett, February 15, 1905 in the Salt Lake Temple, who with the following sons and daughters survive: Clarence H. and Lyndon S. Bennett, Oakland, Calif.; Leslie P. and Stanley B. Bennett, Provo; Mrs. Marcelene Davis and Mis Elaine Bennett, Provo; three brothers, Bishop Frank T. Bennett, Provo; William H. Bennett, Meadow, Utah, and Samuel S. Bennett, Tabor, Alberta, Canada; and 13 grandchildren.
Mr. Bennett started working at the Knight Woolen Mills of Provo in 1889 and continued as a spinner until the company was sold and the mill closed in 1930. He then went to the Utah Woolen Mills in Murray and retired only three years ago.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Manavu ward chapel with Bishop Ariel Ballif in charge. Friends may call at the Claudin Funeral home Sunday evening and at the family residence Monday prior to the services. Interment will be in the Provo City Burial park.
