Vera Monahan, 92, of Marlborough Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Adolph and Magdalena Henges Ell. She was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre High School. She was a life member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre, and its Altar and Rosary Society; Catholic Knights of St. George Auxiliary and St. Nicholas and St. Therese Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1974; several brothers and sisters. Surviving are children, William A. and Mrs. Joanne Soprano, of Wilkes-Barre; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Monday from the Walter Lisman and Son Funeral Home, 233 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Shavertown.
