Jennie Stinger was the daughter of William B Stinger and Rachel V (unknown) Her mother died of consuption when Jennie was only 7 and her father remarried a woman named Rebecca Lutz who didn't treat Jennie very well. Jennie married Howard Wesley Smith on the 5th of June 1901 in Philadelphia. They had four children:
Eliza Margaret Smith 1902-1947
Howard Wesley Smith Jr 1905-1969
Viola Smith 1907-1994
Ethel Madeline Smith 1911-1996
The family moved from Philadelphia to Los Angeles sometime between 1921-1929 with Howard's brother William Evans Smith and his family and built brick homes next to each other in Harlem Park. Jennie spent the final years of her life in a rest home and passed away in Los Angeles.
