Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Francis Avant Lake, 59, of 3618 Cole, Dallas, who died at her home Friday, were held Saturday afternoon at the Wieland Funeral Home with Dr. Marshall Steel officiating. After services in Dallas, the body was sent to Smithland for burial.
Born in Salisbury, Eng., Mrs. Lake had been a resident of the United States for 53 years. Mrs. Lake was first married to the late Dr. Lloyd Avant in 1900, and later married the late Dr. Isaac Wood Lake, of Jefferson in 1903. She has been a member of the Highland Park Methodist church for the last 15 years.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Murl Jones, Arkadelphia, Ark.; Mrs. C. C. Thomas, Kansas City, Mo.; Miss Eleanor Lake and Miss Edith Lake, all of Dallas; four sons, Francis W. Lake, Mesquite; L. L. Lake, George Truman Lake and John F. Lake, all of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Avant, Harleton and Mrs. Lawrence Boyd, Marshall and a brother, Artie Francis, Lakeview.
