Services for Monroe F. Minssen, 85, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shepherd King Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mel Swoyer officiating.

Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery under direction of Rix Funeral Directors.

He died Saturday, May 30, 1998, at his home.

He was born Oct. 18, 1912, in Bartlett and married Gladys Hagens on Jan. 18, 1934, in Wilson. She died Oct. 24, 1994.

He grew cotton on his family farm in southern Lubbock County. He was a charter member of Shepherd King Lutheran Church. He was a member of Sons of Herman Lodge and the Llano Estacado Emmaus Community.

A son, Lawrence, died Jan. 15, 1996.

Survivors include four grandchildren, Monica Minssen McNutt, Matthew Minssen, Andy Disher, all of Lubbock, and Heather Ruden of Houston; and three great-grandchildren.
