Mrs. Easter was born July 22, 1914 in Columbia, S.C. to the late John Howard and Pearl Taylor Thacker. She was a homemaker and member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Easter was also a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Lowgap.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Lutricia and Austin Reeves of Lowgap, Evelyn and James Dunkley of Martinsville, Va. and Sue and Gary Bowman of Mount Airy; four sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Marvene Easter of Lowgap, Ray and Betsy Easter of Dobson, Norwood "Woody" and Eloise Easter of Mount Airy and Bob and Judy Easter of Arapahoe; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and a brother, Odie Gregory Thacker of High Point.
