Robert honorably served in the United States Air Force and was formerly employed in the building trades. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 324, an Ypsilanti Fire Fighter and an employee of the University of Michigan and Ypsilanti Public Schools. In addition he owned and operated a landscaping business since 1958. Survivors include his wife, Nancy, his son, Christopher, his daughter Shelah Ann Barr and his sister Penny Jones. In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Coleen Chadwick and a cousin Mary Ann Roth.
