SAN FERNANDO ~~ Funeral services are pending today for Charles William Allen, 60, of 13349 Gladstone Ave., San Fernando, who fell dead a few minutes after being saved from drowning yesterday.
Sheriff deputies reported that Allen was fishing in a boat on Wagon Wheel Lake, four miles south of Palmdale, near Highway 6, with Jack Price, 3355 San Fernando Rd., when the boat overturned.
Price told deputies that he managed to pull Allen to safety. He said that Allen Walked a few steps, spoke a few words and then fell dead, apparently from a heart attack.

FISHERMAN SAVED FROM DROWNING DROPS DEAD
PALMDALE, June 13 ~~ Charles William Allen, 60, was saved from drowning, only to drop dead a few minutes later of a heart attack.
He was fishing on Wagon Wheel Lake yesterday with Jack Price when the boat overturned. Price said he pulled Allen ashore. He walked a few steps, spoke a few words and dropped dead.
