Obituary:
Roy Giles Butler, 77, of Huntingdon, died Friday, September 22, at his residence.

Services were held on Sunday, September 24, at 2 p.m. at the Huntingdon First Baptist Church. Rev. Fred Ward officiated. Burial followed in the Liberty All Cemetery. At the end of the service, Taps was played by Damon Hines. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers who served were Johnny Carter, Jimmy Coleman, Nicholas Coleman, Dr. Lee Butler, Walter Butler, and Kevin Harris. Honorary pallbearers were William Lee Smothers, Elvis Melton, Bobby Woodard, Paul Newman, James Darnall, Swat Scarbrough, Willard Ellis; former Marshals Richard N. Moore of Selmer and Joe Bennett of Meridian, Mississippi; Judge Aaron Holt of Nashville and Tom Stallings, U. S. District Court, Jackson; Carroll County Sheriff's Department and Huntingdon Police Department.

Mr. Butler, the son of the late Walter Sydney Butler, Sr. and Mabel Giles Butler, was born October 13, 1923, in Carroll County. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Butler, Walter Butler, Jr., and James Butler; and two sisters, Martha Sue Coleman and Eleanor Butler.
