Her name was Mayes at that time and it was Port when Bert died. She was married to William I Mayer before Bowers. I'm wondering if Calvin put her up for adoption because I found a Linnie Arminta Port born Oct 29, 1883 that gives the parents as Dr. William J Randolph and Sarah E Denny that was born in Clay Center, Kansas. The marriage license to Bowers gives her name as Acree and Arminta and Calvin as parents. She was still alive in 1943 if it's the same one. The 1900 census also gives William and Sarah as the adopted parents of her too.
