Funeral services were held Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. in the James Crowder Funeral Home
chapel for Walter Abraham Golden, 64, who died Sept. 14 in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Betty Marie Meek, 318 Azalea. Rev. M. R. Owens officiated.

Mr. Golden was born Aug. 8 , 1899, in Forman, Ark., and was a 23-year resident of
Texas City.

He was formerly in the trucking business but had been retired several years.

Survivors include his wife of Texas City; two daughters, Mrs. Vivian Henson of Quanah and Mrs. Meek; three sons, Charles of Texas City, Marshall of Wilmer and John Castro of Huntsville; two sisters, Mattie Phinegar of Hanford, Calif., and Laura Clevenger of Colorado City; and three brothers, C. C. of Texarkana, Ark., R. B. of Colorado City and Fred of Westbrook

Pallbearers were Harrison Moss, NolanTrudhomme,Sam Emmert, Edwin Calhoun.Paul Rodgers and M. J. Dennis.
