Frank C. Alexander of Esperance, formerly of Delanson, died Tuesday, June 24th, after a long illness.
Born November 24, 1876 in Camden, N. Y., he was the son of the late Egbert and Carolyn Alexander. He was married 55 years ago to the former Emma McClure who survives him.
Mr. Alexander is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. David Becker of Altamont and Mrs. Roland Gage of Esperance; a sister, Mrs. Flora Gerling, Rochester; four grandchildren, Norman and Shirley Wilson of Altamont and Elizabeth and Robert Gage of Esperance; three greatgrandchildren, Norman, Jr., Kirby and Kristan Wilson of Altamont.
Mr. Alexander was widely known as an apiarist. For many years he and his father operated the largest apiary in the United States where they excelled in methods and wholesale honey production.
As a member of and for many years an officer in the Delanson Methodist church, a charter member of the Volunteer Fire Department, and a trustee of Grove Cemetery Association, he served actively in many community affairs.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 27, from the Galen White Funeral Home in Delanson. Rev. David A. Blackman of the Delanson Methodist church and Rev. Roy B. Severance of State Street Methodist church, Schenectady, officiated.
Interment was in Grove Cemetery, Quaker Street.
