David Samuel Chambers, 88, of
Route 1, Dayton, died Dec. 7,1991,
at Rockingham Memorial Hospital
in Harrisonburg.
Mr. Chambers was born Aug.
25, 1903, in Orange and was a son
of the late Rev. George and Nora
Quann Chambers.
He lived his early life in Rockingham
County and then moved to
the Shenandoah area, where he
was a farmer. He was a painter in
the Rhodesville area before retiring
and moving to Briery Branch. ,
Mr. Chambers belonged to
Briery Branch Church of the
Brethren.
On Dec. 2, 1932, he married the
former Irene Emerson, who died
Sept. 16,1980.
Surviving are a daughter,
Marlene Eppard of Route 1,
Dayton; three brothers, William
Chambers of Mount Clinton,
Clarence Chambers of Orange and
Lynwood Chambers of Rhodesville;
a sister, Bessie Chambers of Stafford;
seven grandchildren; and 11
great-grandchildren.
The Rev. C. Reynolds Simmons
Jr. will conduct the funeral at 11
a.m. Wednesday at Briery Branch
Church of the Brethern. Burial will
be in the church cemetery.
