At all stages of life people are continually recalling incidents which happened where they lived some years before. It frequently happens, too, that the "old timer", when he retires, goes back to his "home town" to spend the aftermath of an active life. Such was the experience of Bazeen R. Gaige, pensioned train baggage man, who after 26 years of service on the Saratoga division returned to Delanson, where he began to work for our company 46 years ago, to live after his retirement.

Mr. Gaige was born at Quaker Street, the little village overlooking Delanson, New York in 1862. He attended the grade school which then stood on a plot of ground almost opposite DJ tower today. After finishing his elementary school work the boy was sent to the Academy which was then located at Quaker Street. An Academy at that time corresponded to a high school of today. Delanson now has an up-to-date high school and the Academy has been discontinued...

Married Isabel in 1883, likely sometime the week of July 16-23.

Gaiges Have 50th Anniversary
Mr. & Mrs. Bazeen Gaige of Delanson last week observed their 50th wedding anniversary at their home here. Mrs. Giage, who was Isabel Rector, was married to Mr. Gaige 50 years ago by the late Rev. De Voll, then pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church in this village.

Their anniversary was spent quietly at their home. Though they entertained no guests on their anniversary day, many cards were received by the couple. Mr. & Mrs. Gaige are the parents of two sons, Charles H. Gaige, Schenectady, and Howard W. Gaige, of Delanson; one daughter Mrs. Minnie McDonald of Gallupville.
