Virgle Eppard, 65, Route 1, Dayton,
will be held at 3 p.m. Monday
at the Briery Branch Church of
the Brethren Cemetery. The Revs.
Tony Martin and Randy Cosner
will conduct the service.
Mr. Eppard died Thursday, Jan.
9, 1997, at Rockingham Memorial
Hospital in Harrisonburg after an
extended illness.
He was born Nov. 10, 1931, in
Elkton and was a son of the late
Homer L. Eppard and Beatrice
Hammer Eppard.
He was educated at Baltimore
Vo-Tech and was a certified electrician
and carpenter. He was self
employed in carpet service and retired
from the Fulton Trucking Co.
On June 13, 1952, he married
the former Marlene Chambers,
who survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Elwood
Gerald Eppard, New Jersey
and Virgle, Kevin Lynn, David A.
and Kenneth W. Eppard, all of
Dayton; two daughters, Gail Ng,
Columbia, Md., and Sandra F. Eppard,
Charlotte, N.C.; one brother,
Robert D. Eppard, Harrisonburg;
one sister, Louise E. Parlette, Harrisonburg;
and 15 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends
at the Eppard home this evening.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the National Kidney
Foundation.
Arrangements are by the Lindsey
Harrisonburg Funeral Home.
