ALBERT ROSCOE GOOKIN, 93, of Memphis died April 26, 2006, at his home. Mr. Gookin, a retired shipping clerk at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church and a member of Woodlawn Lodge #211. Services will be Friday, April 28 at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Gookin is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edna Gookin; two daughters, Dale Delzer of Springfield, MO, and Margaret Wilson of Memphis; a sister, Pearl Butler of Covington; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to the Memphis Zoological Society.
