DEATH'S ICY HAND
IT IS LAID UPON A NUMBER OF RESIDENTS OF THIS COMMUNITY--
MRS. FRED WELLS A VICTIM
On Tuesday evening Mrs. Katie Wells died at the home of her husband, Fred Wells, of Brush Creek, after an illness of but short duration. She was attacked with the grip some time ago and this with pneumonia proved fatal. She was born in February, 1844 and was aged about 47 years. The funeral was held Thursday morning the service being held at Pleasant Hill, and the interment taking place at the Eldorado burrying ground. Rev. Eby, of Lena officiated. Three sons and three daughters and a husband mourn the loss of a good wife and mother. The deceased was a sister of John, Geo. and David Kline, of Pleasant Hill, and Eli Kline of Martinville.
