He was born Sept. 22, 1944, in Kittanning, a son of the late Robert William Jeffers and Beulah (Armahizer) Jeffers and he was a lifelong resident of the area.
William retired on Sept. 21, 2011, after 39 years as a truck driver for the Limestone Mine of Bradys Bend Corp. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and anything Elvis. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
William is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Lou (Davis) Jeffers, of Karns City; daughter, Donna Jeffers and friend, Tom Fultz, of Cleveland, Ohio; three sons, William Hugh (Melinda) Jeffers Jr., of Cowansville, David Russell Jeffers and his fiancee, Rebecca Fleming, of Cowansville, and Daniel John (Leah) Jeffers, of Karns City; four grandchildren, Makayla, Mackenzie and Mckenna Jeffers, of Cowansville, and Brandon Jeffers, of Karns City. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends were received Sunday, Feb. 19, in the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Cowansville, where services followed with Pastor Pete Sapp officiating. Interment at the Brush Valley Brethren Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help offset the cost of the funeral.
