Russell - Bender, Victor, 75, died Monday, Jan 31, 2000 at his home. He was born Jan. 14, 1925, in Russell County, to George Bender Jr. and Mary (Hergert) Bender. He lived all his life in the Russell community and worked 36 years for the Kansas State Highway Dept. He was a United States Army World War II veteran and a life member of the VFW of Russell.
Survivors: brothers, Dave of Johnstown, Colo., Ben H. of Wichita; sisters, Dolly Mai, Elsie Dodson both of Russell. There will be no services. The body was cremated. Memorial has been established with American Heart Association. Pohlman's Mortuary in charge.
