The third child of WHH Buhrman and Josepha Backus Anderson was Florence Elizabeth Buhrman.
She married Calisto Parson Smith on Dec. 24, 1912. They lived on the Smith farm located on the James River near Glenn Wilton, VA.
In the Review section of the local newspaper following her death, it stated " The deceased was a woman of lovable character and one whose influence was always for the good."
Her funeral was held at her residence with the services conducted by Rev. R. W. Hinton, a former pastor of Bethel Church, where she had been a member. He was assisted by the Rev. Mr. Smith, of Eagle Rock, VA.
The pall bearers were Hugh Kenney, R. W. Graham, W. G. Sullender, Burton Kidwell, T. A. Barger, and Harry Buttterfield. The flower bearers were Mesdames W. G. Sullender, Kenneth Marx, J. W. Peck, Jr., N. H. Thomas, Lacy Stinnett and Courtney Powell, Misses Virginia, Doris, and Georgia Buhrman, Alma, Ethel, and Florence Barger, Flossie and Hazel Walker, Virginia Graham, Mary Dudley, Mary Broughman, and Virginia Gleason.
Florence and Calisto Smith had three children 1) Josephine Smith, who was born Sept. 17, 1914 and died Jan. 20, 1998. Josephine married Bernard Clay Deisher on March 17, 1940. They had 1 daughter. 2) Edna Smith who was born Aug. 16, 1917. She married Robert Pendleton Chiles of Eagle Rock, VA on May 25, 1965 and they lived on the Smith farm. Edna died May 8, 1997. 3) Cleister Wilson "Bud" Smith who was born Feb. 29, 1920 and died March 18, 1989. He married and later divorced Virginia Graham. They had one son.
