Willis F. Duncan, aged, 58, died at the county hospital this morning. Peritonitis was the cause. He had been living in one of the small houses near the gas plant until two days ago. He went to the city hall and asked to be allowed to remain there over night. This was granted and Dr. Atkinson was called to attend him. Duncan seemed to improve rapidly until Wednesday noon when Chief Strahan notified the county commissioners that the man should be removed to the hospital. Supt. Walker took charge of him but it was not for long. The disease brought death within a short time. The remains will be buried on Saturday. Duncan at onetime worked in the sugar factory, but of late years he has been doing odd jobs and lived by himself.
