Helen C. Villers, 90, of Elizabeth, W.Va., passed away Feb. 17, 2012, at the Willows Nursing Home of Parkersburg surrounded by her loving family.

She was the last surviving child of the late Frank and Ida Hewitt.

She was a member of Elizabeth Church of the Nazarene and was a board member. She was very active in her church, from Vacation Bible School to mission work. If a church activity was taking place she was a part of it.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Wilson (Dan) of Mineral Wells; son, Mike Villers (Melissa) of Elizabeth; special niece, May Ann Hodgen of Elizabeth; grandchildren, Mathew Fought of Elizabeth, Cathy Fought of Newark, W.Va., Jacob and Joseph Villers of Elizabeth, Taylor Watson of Elizabeth and Angela Gandee of Pettyville, W.Va.; and great-grandchildren, Brennan and Luke Commiskey and Jairan Sophia Gandee, all of Pettyville.

She was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband, John "Dick" Villers Jr.; one daughter, Kay (Louis) Fought; one granddaughter, Kayla Villers; three brothers, Woodrow, Tom and Howard Hewitt; six sisters, Mildred Ott, Bessie Brady, Wilma Swearingen, Mary Windland, Belva Wyant and Betty Cross; and two infant great-grandchildren, John Roland Talkington and Bryan Scott Talkington.

The family extended a special thank you to the staff of the Willows Nursing Home for the special care they gave to their mother.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth with the Rev. Ray Whitman officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. Monday until time of the service. Interment will be in K of P Cemetery of Elizabeth.
