Ruth Harriett was born to Bryce Monroe and Mary Dodds Maxwell Campbell. Ruth had two children with Roy Allen, who died young. During the 2nd World War she worked on B-17 bombers in Seattle. After the war she became an LPN and worked in the Seattle area before moving to Nyssa, where she met Elmer Cloninger.
