Donald Lee Awalt, 54, of Glassboro, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, in Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Washington Twp. He was employed as a Technical Engineer in charge of boilers and propulsion systems on Navy vessels for NSWC Carderock Division, Philadelphia Naval Base for 35 years. Donald served with the US Navy for one term and was discharged in 1982. He enjoyed fishing and his motorcycle. Donald is survived by his mother, Lucille Awalt; his 2 brothers, George ("G.T.") Awalt and his wife, Elizabeth Davis-Awalt, of Claude, TX and Steven J. Awalt and his wife, Elaine M. Awalt, of Clayton; and 1 nephew, Daniel Awalt ("Best Buddy"). Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 11:00 AM in the MATHIS FUNERAL HOME, 43 N. Delsea Drive, Glassboro, where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Burial of his cremains will be in Manahath Cemetery, Glassboro. Contributions in his memory may be made to Bethlehem United Church of Christ, 137 S. Main St., Glassboro, NJ 08028.
