He was born June 23, 1919 in Heber City, Utah to Shield and Ila Sulzer Montgomery. Vic was raised in Center Creek, Utah. He graduated from Wasatch High School and attended BYU. He served in the Air Force in the South Pacific during World War II. He married Dora Ann Graham of Heber on February 1, 1945. Their marriage was solemnized February 2, 1980 in the Provo Temple. He was an active High Priest in the Lindon Sixth Ward and served as Branch President at the Lindon Care Center and secretary to the High Priest Group Leader in the Ward. He dedicated his life to teaching and serving others. He loved fishing, gardening, and could fix anything that was broken.He is survived by his wife Dora Ann Graham Montgomery of Lindon; and six children: Ned (LaRaine) Montgomery, Pleasant Grove; Ann (Earl) Bates, Wellsville; Vickie (Sherm) Bronson, Lehi; Cindy (Bob) Prince, Roy; Jolene (Tom) Stewart, Highland; Rosalie (Mike) Gervais, SLC; 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include three brothers and two sisters: Bryce, Clarence, and Joel Montgomery, Dawna McDonald and Ila McDonald. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Jo Christensen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17, 1999 at 11 a.m. in the Old Lindon Chapel, Main and Center, Lindon. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment in the Lindon City Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by District IV of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
