Borden Man Found Dead in Barley Field--William J. Bell succumbs to heart attack. William J. Bell, 69, a farmer living in Wood township, on the knobs back of Borden was found dead in a barley field on his farm at 6 o'clock Tuesday evening, the victim of a heart attack. He had left his home about one o'clock, following the mid-day meal, and when he failed to return at 5:00, a search was instigated. Coroner Edwin M. Coots stated that life had been extinct about four hours when the body was found. Mr. Bell was a native of Clark County and had lived there all his life. He took an active part in Democratic politics, and was well known throughout Wood township. He was a member of the Christian Church at Pleasant Ridge. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lula Bell; three sons, Wilson, Bruce, and Hubert Bell, all of Borden; a daughter, Mrs. Devore Dietrich, of Henryville; two brothers, George Bell of Charlestown and Charles Bell of Borden; and a sister, Mrs. Ida Gillispie, of Monticello, Indiana. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
