Phoebe is the daughter of Joseph Franklin Tracy Sr. & Hannah Thompson Bemis. Her birth was on the plains, west of Omaha, Nebraska. They were heading to the promise land of Utah. I'm not sure how long they were there but I know they ended up in Oregon. Everything is so sketchy, from what I can figure out my Grandfather William Joseph Taylor (Bill), did not agree with the Mormon way and did not associate with his parents because of it. I'm not sure if this happened before or after the death of his mother, (her dying in 1915) or when he meet my Grandmother Helen Augusta Hargrave, (they were married in 1917, I don‘t know how long they knew each other before they were married either). I would love to know the true story but that won't ever come out.

Anyway, my Great Grandmother Phoebe married my Great Grandfather William J Taylor on the 19th of May 1889 in Oregon. They had three children: a son, William Joseph Taylor, not Jr. (William is after his father and Joseph is after his Grandfather Tracy. William J Taylor is just that, the initial J for his middle name.) Then two daughters, Nancy Ethel (Taylor) Morris, she went by Ethel; and Violet Hope (Taylor) Burgin.

Peace to you and those you love.
