Homer Edward Kunz, of Victor, passed away early Thursday morning on February 16, 2012, at the age of 93 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on July 19, 1918 in Cedron, Idaho. Homer served an LDS mission to the North States. He returned and went to the University of Utah. While there, he met and married Doris Self in 1941. The following year, he was drafted in to the army and served in the Pacific Theatre for 4 years. Homer and Doris were the parents of Richard (Kathy) Kunz, Jamie (Les) Lavenstien, Kelly (Diane) Kunz. They were later divorced. Homer farmed and ranched at Patterson Creek Ranch in Victor for 30 years. He has 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In 1980, he married Velma McCrary and spent the winters in Texas. They were later divorced. Homer played a part in getting Grand Targhee Resort started. He was a member of the Lions Club. Homer loved hunting and fishing, and spent time as a fishing guide for his uncle, Alma Kunz who started the Teton Valley Lodge. He taught many teenage boys how to work on his ranch. Homer lived in Teton Valley his whole and was a friend to all. Funeral services will be on Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Victor L.D.S. Church at 11 A.M... Burial will be at the Cedron Cemetery.
