Mrs. Abbie Whiting, 87, of a nursing home at 1500 West Truman, died yesterdday at the home. She was born in Clitherall, Minn., and lived in Butler, MO. before moving to Independence 12 years ago. Mrs Whiting was a member of the Reorganized Latter Day Saint church. Surviving are three sons, Donald Whiting, 208 East Eighteenth Terrace, M. H. Whiting, Chicago, and Ralph Whiting, La Grange, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs Mildred Bown, 4035 Harvardl a brother, Blynn Anderson, Bemidji, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Amy Deming, and Mrs. Maude Huggett, both of Forest Grove, Ore.; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday at the Speaks chape, Independence; burial in Mound Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 7 until 9 o'clock tonight at the chapel.
