Santa Maria, California - published Tuesday, April 7 1931
Chester Arthur Carlin, 38. native of Illinois, died at the Santa Maria hospital last evening, April 6, following a lingering illness. Deceased was a resident of Guadalupe for the past two years, and had been In California for the past 20 years. He is survived by the widow, Julia Evelyn Carlin; one son, Joseph Holland Carlin; a brother, Paul of Ventura: sister, Miss Elvadora Carlin of Louiston, Illinois. His parents. Mr. and Mrs. George Carlin of Golden, Illinois, also survive.
He was a member of San Luis Obispo B. P. O. Elks, and a charter member of the Kiwanis club of Lompoc. Services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock In the chapel of the Dudley and Bradford Funeral home, under auspices of San Luis Obispo B.P. O. Elks. After the services the body will be taken to Lompoc for interment. Graveside services will be conducted by Father OShea, with the Lompoc Kiwanis club in attendance.
