W. A. Eaheart, County and District Clerk of Shackelford Died Saturday Morning
On last Saturday morning at 2 o'clock W. A. Eaheart, our County and District Clerk of Shackelford County passed gently to rest. He had been in bad health for about a year, and for several weeks has been very low, and his passing away had been looked for, for several days, and about 2 o'clock Saturday morning all that was mortal of W. A. Eaheart passed away. He now sleeps the sleep that knows no waking, and his spirit has been called back to the one who gave it.
W. A. Eaheart was a man who had been a prominent figure in the history of Shackelford County for a number of years and was afterward elected county Surveyor, which office he filled with honor for a number of years. In 1902 he was elected county and District Clerk of Shackelford county and this position he held at the time of his death. W. A. Eaheart had many friends in Shackelford county who mourn his untimely departure. for honesty and integrity, no man stood higher in the commonwealth than W. A. Eaheart, and his departure will be missed by all. In his death, the community has lost a good true and upright citizen, his family a loving husband and tender and deoted father. We extend to the family our sympathy in their great loss. He leaves a sife and five children to mourn his departure. Rev T. Joe talley conducted the funeral services at the grave, and in the presence of a large ctowd of sorrowing friends and relatives his body was laid to rest.
