Mary Elizabeth Cox, 89, mother of four, grandmother of 20 and great-grandmother of 54, great-great-grandmother of 15, returned to her Heavenly Father February 17, 1998.
She died of cancer at her home in Springville.
She was born August 26, 1908, in Groveland, Idaho, to David Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Peterson.
She married Ernest Theodore Steele July 30, 1929. They divorced in August of 1961.
She married Newel Dee Cox December 5, 1964. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 28, 1965.
Preceding her in death were three sons; one infant son, Ernest VeNile, and Monte Dave Steele; a brother, Andrew Peterson; and a sister, Agnes Catherine Sorensen.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Gloria Nadine Stephens of Moab, Utah; and a sister, Belle Gressman of West Jordan, Utah.
