Carlos Burns, 78, of Meta died Sunday, May 4, 1996, at St. Elizabeth Care Center in St. Elizabeth. He was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Van Cleve to James and Lee Scott Burns. In 1937, he was married in ST. Louis to Evelyn Grosvenor, who survives at the home.
Mr. Burns owned and operated a cattle ranch. He competed nationwide for many years as a rodeo cowboy and was a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. HE attended the Church of Christ in Eldon.
Other survivors include a son, Troy Burns of St. Thomas, and three grandchildren. Another son, Ewald Burns, died May 15, 1965.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Burial was in Southside Cemetery near Meta.
