An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on September 25, 1930 for Mrs. Charlotte Chase states that her funeral was held at the Sand Creek Church with interment in the Sand Creek Cemetery. Casket bearers were six grandsons and flower girls were six granddaughters. Charlotte Townley was born on Nov. 4, 1852. She was married to Charles Chase. To this union five children were born, three of whom were living. They were W. W. Chase and W. L. Chase of Windsor and Mrs. Charles Williamson of Shelbyville. Mrs. Mollie Abercrombie and Etta had preceded their mother in death. There were also eighteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Rebecca Nance of Windsor and a brother, Douglas, whose whereabouts was not known. *Newspaper erroneously listed her last name as Williamson. Death record listed her as Chase.
