Oldest child of Bronson Oakes & Mary Agnes Van Landingham. When Alida was 4 yrs old the family sold their property in Missouri and moved to California. In the autumn of 1870 the family moved fron California to Benton County, OR. It is there that Alida's sister Josephine passed away in October of 1870. Alida's father died in 1879 leaving his widow with 8 children. Informant on Alida's death record was Robert Marple.
