On 9/12/1835, a group of men, chaired by Caleb Wright, formed at the Greentree Hotel in Doylestown for the purpose of forming a volunteer infantry of men (The Doylestown Guards). The following is said about Mr. Wright:
"Caleb F.. W'rig^ht is a member of the Bucks county bar, to which he was admitted in 1832, and practiced at it until 1S53. when he removed to W'ilkesbarre. where he was born, but came back to Doylestovvn in 1876. He is still in practice, and occasionally preaches, being a licensed minister of the Methodist church. He is the son of Joseph Wright, of New Jersey, who removed to Wilkesbarre."
