A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Arnold Lee Dugat, 76, born September 13, 1935, who passed away on February 14,2012 in Crowley, LA.

Arnold was a devoted husband, an admired father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, loving son, uncle and true friend. He will be deeply and sadly missed. A 1954 graduate of Roanoke High, he served nine years in the Louisiana Army National Guard, and retired from Chevron. He was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary. He loved to play steel guitar and played with Nathan Abshire and many local bands.

Fr. Matthew Higginbotham, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 6:30 p.m. by the Ladies Altar Society of Immaculate Heart of Mary. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Salomie Broussard Dugat of Crowley; one daughter Charlene Dugat Sonnier and her companion Steven Kitchell of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren Randie Sonnier and Christopher Kitchell of Jacksonville,FL; his brother-in-law, Joe Moss of Roanoke; one niece, Paula Moss Thompson of Abbeville; one brother, Herman Crochet and his wife Betty of Lake Charles; extended family, Debbie and Terry Eymard of Thibodaux.

Arnold was preceded in death by his son, Randall Lee Dugat; his parents, Ray Lee Dugat and the former, Enola Landry; one brother Lothan Dugat; and one sister Dolores Dugat Moss.

His family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Katira and the staff of American Legion Hospital, Heart of Hospice and Staff, as well as, the family and friends who supported us during our time of need.
