Mrs. Mary Hooke to Be Buried in Utica

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ella Hooke, 52, wife of Earle M. Hooks, will be held from the Presbyterian Church in Utica Thursday afternoon at 4:00 o’clock with the Rev. Roy L. McGowan officiating. Interment will follow in the Utica Cemetery with Glenwood Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hooke died in Doctor’s Hospital in Jackson Tuesday morning at 8:45 o’clock after an extended illness.

Born and reared in Lexington she was the daughter of the late Mrs. Necie Hooker Povall and Benjamin B. Hooker. She later moved to Utica where she made her home for 26 years.

She worked as a clerk in the Utica Post Office for a number of years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Earle M. Hooke of Utica; one daughter, Mrs. Larry Bridgers of Raymond, two sons, Henry E. Hooke of Los Angeles, California and Ben M. Hooke of New Orleans; and one brother Henry S. Hooker of Memphis.

Pallbearers will be James Keith, W.C. McKey, Conrad Harris, Archie Sims, W.W. Hubbard, L.J. Curtis, J.N. Brock and Zack Brock.
