Passing Away of Aged Mother
Mrs. Mattie Wheeler, aged 70 years, died at the home of her son, A.C. Wheeler, on East Standifer Street Wednesday night at 9 o'clock after an illness of seven months.
Mrs. Wheeler was born in Tennessee, but moved with her people to Arkansas while yet a small child. It was while in Arkansas that she was married to Mr. A. J. A. Wheeler and resided there until twenty years ago when they moved to Texas. They first settled in the Parker community and afterwards moved near Anna. A few years ago they moved to McKinney. Mr. Wheeler died at his home in this city a little over two years ago. Since the death of her husband Mrs. Wheeler has been living with her son, at whose home she was when the death angel called her from this world of pain and sorrow.
Mrs. Wheeler leaves ten children to mourn her death, also many relatives and friends. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church.
The funeral service was held at Princeton Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. R. Goudlock, pastor of the Princeton Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Princeton cemetery.
We extend condolences to the bereaved ones.
