All her siblings were born in Douglas County, South Dakota too.
On November 21, 1934 Johanna married in Douglas County, South Dakota the one year older Adrian Vander Tuin, who had Dutch parents too. Johanna's sister Rickie married in 1927 Bonne Vander Tuin, an older brother of Adrian.
From end 1937 until August 1945 Ed and Joanna had three children, John, Margaret and Everett.
Her husband Adrian Vander Tuin died in November 1994 at the age of 86 years. Widow Johanna died in August 1995 at the Platte Hospital at the age of also 86 years.
