Funeral services were held at 3 pm Friday in Magnolia for George Eldon Crump, 44, a native of the Mineral Springs community and brother of several residents of the local area. He died suddenly, apparently of a heart attack, Thursday morning while bird hunting in Lafayette county, Ark. The apparent attack came while Crump was hunting with his son in law, James Ervin of Magnolia. Mr. Crump was a member of the Magnolia City Council, having represented Ward 3 for five years. He was the owner of a Magnolia grocery store. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and of Central Baptist Church. He was the Son of George Charles and Nora W. Green Crump. Survivors include his widow Cleyone Ware Crump, one daughter, one sister, three brothers.
